Update on the Banana-Nut Bread for Bread Machine

As I previously stated, I decided to try making Banana-Nut Bread using my Bread Machine. So here's my thought on it.

The recipe is good, however it takes longer to use the Bread Machine. 1 hour and 50 minutes to be exact. I feel that that is way too long. I and my family also commented on the texture of the outer layer of the bread. It was too thick, tough and not very flavorful. No work was spared in using the Bread Machine either.

By making it in the oven I can cut the time of baking in half. The outer layer is thin and chewy, not tough and tastes great! The effort in measuring, mixing, etc. is the same in either case.

I like the recipe but not using it in the machine. From now on, I will just make it the old-fashioned way.

I'm gonna try a new recipe tonight. I have a few bananas that I want to use before it is too late so I looked up a banana-nut bread recipe for bread machines.

I have made white bread and cinnamon rolls using my bread machine, but never banana-nut bread so I thought I would give it a try. I'll let you all know how it turns out tomorrow as it's getting late now.

Freebies at Sam's Club

While at Sam's Club today, we got free food and drink!

Here's what happened.

My daughter and I were hungry while shopping at Sam's Club. We ran into several stands giving out samples. They had french bread pizza, hot pocket, garlic bread, hot wings, loaded baked potatoe, cheese puff, apple slice, sausage & cheese bagel, energy drink(8oz bottle), alcohol free marquita drink, strawberry daiquiri drink, chicken cordon bleu & Surf laundry detergent. Needless to say, we did not have to buy lunch today. Although they were small samples they did feel us up.

Now this is saving! Why not eat and shop and it's free! I got to try some things I have never had and even bought one item that otherwise I would not have gotten.

Praying Mother

I have such a wonderful, Godly mother in law (mother). I wrote this poem several years ago with her in mind.

Praying Mother
Hell was on my side. Satan thought he had won. I was shackled with guilt and shame. My faith was almost gone, but then something happened when my mother thought of me. She lifted her voice to the Lord and began to pray for me.

Now; Satan was working overtime determined to take me out. I couldn’t quite get the victory and I was having so many doubts. On the verge of giving up, that’s when my mother thought of me. She lifted her voice to the Lord and began to intercede.

God must have heard her many prayers for I rose to me feet. My strength was renewed and my heart now at peace. I thank God for my mother who prays always for me. I know it was her many prayers that set me free.

I thank God for my praying mother who prays so faithfully. Through her own sickness and trials she still prays for me. I thank God for my praying mother for where would I be. Every time she called on the Lord he rescued me.
